I am a member of Fug Nation, the readership of the fantastic blog Go Fug Yourself. The blog covers celebrity fashion with a snarky twist, but Heather and Jessica are so dang smart and can't help but make the blog a place for a variety of topics. Their twitter feed is excruciatingly brilliant and fascinating, but they aren't too smart for the "guilty pleasure" topics; recently, they were commenting on MTV's video music awards, and Heather posted:
"Can you imagine what it must feel like to be Adele, and open your mouth, and have that voice come out? What a blessing. -H"
And I can't get that thought out of my head. I adore that Adele; not only does she give us curvy women someone glamorous to look up to, she does it purely based on talent. Her voice is beautiful, but what gets me about her is that her songwriting is so soulful. With lyrics like, "Daydreamer/ With eyes that make you melt, he lends his coat for shelter/ Plus he's there for you when he shouldn't be/ But he stays all the same, waits for you/ Then sees you through" and "We were born and raised in a summer haze/ Bound by the surprise of our glory days," how could anyone resist her?
So, here are a bunch of videos of her being amazing and talented and exactly what I need on this Thursday night.
